More than a year has passed since my last blog post and so many things happened in this one year. Academically, I have done well enough for the previous 2 semesters to pull my cGPA back up and that goal of getting second uppers became a lot more reachable. Even though people always say that GPA isn't that important, I disagree. If I hadn't been able to pull my GPA back up, I would not even be able to go on an exchange. I have worked my ass off for that 2 sems in order for me to qualify for that dream exchange.
Since we're on the topic of exchange, I managed to enter Cardiff University to study for one semester from Sept15 to Jan16. I'm sooooooooo excited! To those thinking of going for exchange, my advice would be to really do your research properly, else you'd end up like me, having so much trouble with my application process. Lessons over at Cardiff actually starts on the 28Sept and Orientation starts on 21Sept. I've decided to travel around Europe with 2 other girls for 3 weeks before going to school. I'll try to blog on my travels more often during that period :)
Since travelling require money, I wanted to work as much as possible during the hols. I've actually taken up a lot of short term event jobs, like giving out samples for Khiels, counting human traffic for a research company, ushering for SMU commencement and more recently, working at 23 Jumpin as a part-time service crew. Working at 23 Jumpin for the past 2 months was actually fun (except the horrible unreasonable customers), and I love the family-ish atmosphere there. The people there are just so kind, always offering me food. I hope that I'll still be able to work here when Im back from the UK. Many new friendships were made through these part-time jobs and I've experienced so so much. I'll never trade them with anything else in the world (except maybe a lifetime supply of ice cream).
It's going to be National day soon, which also means that my 21st birthday is coming up. I've decided not to throw a party because I really needed the money for my Europe trip/UK exchange. Also, I never quite liked the idea of celebrating birthdays. I mean, its technically just another day of your life. I'm not someone who enjoys being in the spotlight. I don't particularly enjoy the awkward moment of not knowing what to do when people are singing the birthday song (unless I'm the one singing). On a side note, I have a choir performance in school on that big day. It'll probably be the last choir performance in my entire life. Cries.
I'll stop blogging here for now and go back to learning how to sing 4minute's Crazy (thanks Sher-yin for teaching me Korean hehe). I'll definitely be back to blog soon and maybe i'll even post a vlog here! :)
P.S. Did you notice I've changed my style of blogging? I didn't really liked my old style of writing so I've changed it. Hopefully for the better.
